MedicOne Medical Response is an independent emergency medical transport program, uniquely designed to provide unequaled response and high quality patient care.
Critical Care Transport

MedicOne Medical Resposne CCT, as a dedicated resource, is specifically designed with appropriate personnel, medications, and specialized equipment to provide the care and monitoring required when transporting high acuity critically ill patients.

Staffed with a board certified Critical Care Paramedic, and EMT, MedicOne utilizes a fully equipped Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU). Even the highest acuity patients can be easily transported without taxing the resources of the sending facility and without interruption in the patient’s level of ICU care. The MICU is equipped with a Univent Eagle Ventilator, Zoll CCT biphasic cardiac monitors, with Sp02, Capnography and 12-lead capability multiple Mini-med IV pumps, and interventional medications found in most hospital ICU’s. MedicOne’s Critical Care Transport can accommodate the transport of almost any type of critical care patient, from an unstable cardiac patient requiring Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump therapy, to a high-risk OB patient requiring fetal monitoring.

In order to meet the needs of so many different types of critical patients, much is taken into consideration in the staffing of the MICU. There is a careful selection and hiring process, in which an individual with a varied Critical Care/EMS background is sought. Crews are selected based on experience, adaptability, and critical thinking ability as well as overall professional competence in caring for critical patients. Ongoing, intensive training is mandatory for all crews, ensuring confidence in the latest treatment modalities. The patient care on the MedicOne MICU is physician directed, and no different than care in a hospital Critical Care Unit.

While most ambulance providers train their paramedic for CCT with a brief in-house training program, MedicOne only utilizes Certified Critical Care Paramedics whom have received training from a nationally accrediting certification agency. Currently we accept the following certifications for our Critical Care Transport program:

  • CCEMT-P (Critical Care Paramedic) – University of Maryland at Baltimore County
  • CCP-C (Critical Care Paramedic - Certified – Board for Critical Care Transport Paramedic Certification
  • FP-C (Certified Flight Paramedic) – Board for Critical Care Transport Paramedic Certification
